For once, lets hope that Greene is right…
“My advice to the president is simple, is stick with the agenda and ignore the people here in Washington that are trying to get you to do something different. And it’s the Republicans that are the problem, Steve,” Greene told Steve Bannon in a new interview.
“Here’s the issue. We’re not gonna get it done in two years. It’s not gonna happen and actually the American people are way smarter than Washington. They know it’s not gonna get done in two years,” she added, before her and Bannon listed off some imaginary Trump accomplishments.
“Stick to the program!” she continued. “Deliver the campaign promises that we made and understand that the way to win the midterms is by the House and the Senate delivering the campaign promises because Trump’s not on the ballot in 2026.”
While she’s certainly right that Republicans are in electoral peril (because of Trump’s plummeting approval ratings and his destruction of the American economy) she’s wrong about the solutions.
Trump IS delivering on his campaign promises. He told voters that he’d institute tariffs and implement a mass deportation program. The issue for him is that these are awful policies that become radioactive once implemented.
Rather than a give a sane blueprint for steering the country back from the edge, Greene urged Trump to double down and impose even more deranged policies.
“I’m telling you. If you ignore the parents that are furious over COVID vaccines being on their childhood vaccine schedule, you’re gonna lose the midterms,” she said.
“If you ignore the campaign promises of no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security, you’re going to lose the midterms,” she added, listing policies that while popular run antithetical to everything Republicans stand for.
“If you ignore the executive orders, that the American people are like, yes, applauding for every single day, we’re going to lose the midterms!” she went on.
She ended her tirade with a warning that really functioned as a very compelling reason for voting for Democrats…
“Here’s why: If we’re campaigning in 2026 on, you have to vote for Republicans because the Democrats are going to impeach Trump, the American people are gonna go, we don’t care, we’ve seen that TV show before, we’ve seen it twice.” warned Greene. “We do not care, we still support President Trump.”
The reality is that most Americans — even many who voted for him — do not support Trump. They see what he’s doing to consumer prices and their life savings and they’re crying out for him to stop.
If Democrats can seize back control of the House and Senate and impeach Trump, the vast majority of the country will support it this time.
